About Lexie
Looking to the Future!
After growing up in Dallas, Texas and developing her love for digital audio and video production at SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts, Lexie could not resist a unique opportunity to participate in an exchange program with the University of Denver at the base of the Rocky Mountain range for a year. She focused on Emergent Digital Practices during studies while at DU and enjoyed learning from Derrick Horne and Eileen Maxson, both had a significant influence on her development as a digital producer and artist. Today, Lexie is in the final phases of earning a BA in Film and Media Studies with a Minor in Advertising at SMU. Her studies have included Digital Hybrid Media, Video Art, Art of Film and Media, Screenwriting, Marketing Principles of Advertising.
Lexie is skilled in Logic Pro, AVID Pro Tools, Premiere and Final Cut Pro and has been recognized for her multimedia works. Lexie Schmitt is a talented producer of original music and video content for use in a variety of formats including social media management and brand development. Her talents have led to freelance work for companies like Up In Smoke Inc. where for the past 2 years she developed and managed their social media and advertising creative. She also has been contracted by various music recording artists to develop background video creative and animation to enhance live performances.
Prior to pursuing her passion for music and video production at the collegiate level, Lexie was a competitive cheerleader whose teams excelled at the National and World level by combining innovative dance sequences with digitally produced music to complement the artistic and athletic abilities of the team. While in High School, Lexie stood out as a AP Student and graduated from Prosper High School as a National Honor Society recipient while being on the Honor Roll every semester during her four years.
